We will be convening at 6:30 at Audrey’s home for our January meeting. We will be discussing “Wench,” the fictional account of slaves and their masters at an Ohio resort. Audrey is planning an old-fashioned Southern specialty of ham, collards, and dressing. I will bring the sweet potatoes. Please let us know if you can come and what you will bring.
Devil in the White City has long been on my to-read list so I am especially excited about our Feb pick from author Erik Larson. His newest book, “In the Garden of Beasts” looks at the story of an American diplomat in Hitler’s Germany. This book of “novelistic history” is sure to delight and with a subtitle of “Love, Terror, and American Family in Hitler’s Berlin” I am sure we are in for an adventure.
It is time for our annual meeting. We will be meeting at June’s house at 6:30 on Thursday, December 15th. Be sure to bring a book and a bottle of wine for exchanging. Husbands and significant others are also welcome. We look forward to seeing you soon!
Please use the add comment function to R.S.V.P. and also let us know what food/wine you will bring for consumption.
